Robert joined the firm in 1992, becoming a partner in 1996 and senior partner in 2015, before becoming a consultant in 2024.
Robert is a highly experienced criminal lawyer, being a longstanding member of the South Durham and Darlington police station and court duty solicitor schemes. He deals with all types of criminal case from the police station through to the magistrates’ court and Crown Court, including murder, manslaughter, drugs conspiracies and serious sexual offences. He has particular expertise in respect of road traffic matters, special reasons and exceptional hardship cases.
Robert also handles a substantial residential conveyancing caseload, maintaining close relationships with local estate agents. Robert takes pride in providing a friendly, personal but highly efficient service, and can boast a substantial proportion of repeat clients thanks to the excellent level of client satisfaction he provides.
Robert has extensive experience of dealing with other non-contentious matters including wills, probate and powers of attorney.

Liam studied law at Nottingham University, joined CW Booth & Co in 1994 and became a partner in 2000. He is head of our Family Law department and is a vastly experienced solicitor in respect of all types of family proceedings.
He is a member of the Law Society Family Law and Children Panels and current chair of the Durham Child Law Group.
Liam’s primary area of practice is care proceedings brought by the Local Authority, in which he regularly represents children, parents or other parties involved. He also deals with private law family matters including applications in respect of child arrangements (previously known as contact and residence) and special guardianship.
Liam is known for his detailed and meticulous approach to case preparation and advocacy as well as his excellent client care.

Samuel joined CW Booth & Co in 2002 and became a partner in 2010.
Samuel has extensive experience in residential conveyancing, handling a substantial caseload of transactions for both private and corporate clients. Sam’s friendly and efficient service ensure that he receives regular repeat instructions from conveyancing clients and consistently excellent feedback.
Samuel also specialises in criminal law, dealing with cases from the police station and magistrates’ court through to the most serious Crown Court matters. He offers huge experience in all types of criminal cases, including road traffic offences, benefits agency investigations and large-scale conspiracies. Samuel has dealt with cases involving highly complex financial, forensic and telecommunications evidence. He is a duty solicitor for the South Durham and Darlington police station and court schemes and is qualified as a solicitor advocate (Higher Courts – Criminal).
Samuel also accepts instructions in respect of wills and lasting powers of attorney.

Jo is a solicitor who specialises in family law.
She specialises in private and public law children cases and has a particular interest in domestic abuse cases and disputes over the arrangements for children, such as who they should live with and what time they should spend with the parent they do not live with.
She understands that coming to see a solicitor and talking about personal issues can be a very difficult and daunting time. She will try her very best to put clients at ease and signpost them to other agencies and services who may be able to support and assist them. She will listen to clients and ensure she knows what they want to achieve at the outset. She is committed to providing clients with realistic advice about their options and the likely outcomes for them.
She is a member of Resolution, an organisation of family lawyers and other professionals, who are committed to taking a non-confrontational approach and considering the needs of the whole family and, in particular, the best interests of the children, when resolving family law disputes. She is accredited by Resolution as a Specialist Family Lawyer with particular specialisms in Private Law Children and Domestic Abuse cases.
She is also a certified scheme member of the Law Society Children Law Accreditation Scheme regularly representing parents, children and other family members in both public and private law proceedings before the Family Courts.
She studied law at the University of Leeds before completing the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York. She was awarded the Legal Service Commission (now known as the Legal Aid Agency) Public Legal Services Route Prize 2005/2006 for being the best performing student in the elective examinations at York College of Law.
She qualified as a solicitor in September 2009 and has practised as a family law solicitor since then.

Amrit is a barrister having been called to the Bar in March 2017 by the Honourable Society of Middle Temple London.
He has a wealth of experience having qualified in 2009 before transferring to Bar.

Amrit appears exclusively in the Crown Court for CW Booth & Co, enabling the firm to offer a seamless service from police interview through to Crown Court trial including Military Courts Martial.

Kirsty joined the firm in 2022 and was admitted onto the roll of Solicitors in 2024.
Kirsty holds an undergraduate degree in criminology and a First-Class master’s in criminal justice and criminal law. She achieved a First-Class honours in both her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course.
She completed her Police Station Accreditation in 2023 and regularly attends the police station to provide advice to clients.
Kirsty has an interest in both criminal and family Law. She takes pride in providing a friendly and personal service to her clients whilst acting efficiently in their best interests.

Joshua joined the firm in October 2024 as a solicitor specialising in criminal law.
Joshua holds an M-Law Exempting degree and has completed a Legal Practice Course (LPC) at Northumbria University in Newcastle. Joshua graduated with a 2:1 and completed a 2-year training contract at another firm outside of our region before commencement of his employment at CW Booth & Co.
Joshua is primarily a criminal solicitor who represents clients at the magistrates’ court and the police station. Joshua also has an interest in family law that he will be pursuing to specialise in that area as his career progresses. Joshua provides excellent client care and a first-class service to all clients he represents.

Charles graduated from Teesside University in 2021 having obtained a 2:1 degree in Law and Criminology. Charles’s background is in conveyancing and he is hoping to complete the SQE (Solicitors Qualifying Exam) in the future. Charles prides himself in providing excellent customer service, giving his clients regular updates and explaining technical details in plain English.
Outside of the office Charles likes spending time with his family along with helping run a family business, playing rugby and enjoying country pursuits.
